The inspiration for this design project comes from the Portuguese architecture and more specifically from the handmade street signs in Portugal and also the “Azulejo” technique (painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework) that constitute a major aspect of Portuguese architecture to this day. In addition to depicting large facades, this technique is also used to create street signs with decorative details and more often the use of serif fonts. Keeping these frames as key elements of the main logo, a series of sketches were created, with a more “rugged” drawing approach to bring out a stronger handcrafted character. The green color brings up a natural feeling and it could resemble to an aerial view of a vast coffee plantation.
